“I grew up in 90s Ukraine. The Mediterranean was just a fantasy I used to escape the grey. My colors are loud because I don't paint the world as it looks. I paint it exactly how I needed it to be as a kid.”
Maryna arrived in Spain the week the war began. She stepped into reality and walked right into the landscape she had spent her childhood inventing. Today, she paints from her home studio in Málaga. She is finally surrounded by the light she used to only imagine.
