Serenity in bloom, n3
About This Work
'Serenity in Bloom, n3' depicts a serene scene of a woman enjoying the beauty of nature. She is seated on a large, smooth rock in a pond filled with lush, green lotus leaves and delicate pink flowers. The woman's back is turned to the viewer, suggesting a moment of contemplation or peaceful solitude. Her flowing pink dress adds a touch of vibrant color to the scene, contrasting with the cool tones of the water and foliage. The overall atmosphere of the painting is one of tranquility and harmony.

The Ground
I prepare the canvas myself, layering the primer until the surface feels right under my hand. This is where the painting begins, long before the first brushstroke.
Building the World
I work in layers, letting each one dry before adding the next. Some paintings ask for a week between sessions. I have learned not to rush them.
The Last Light
The final pass is the most intimate. Small corrections, a touch of warmth here, a deeper shadow there. At some point the painting tells me it is done. I listen.

"Oil painting taught me patience. You cannot rush a layer that is not dry. The painting decides when it is ready."
