If you read my last post, you know that on October 25th, I was in Loja winning 2nd prize at a "Pintura Rápida" contest. It was an amazing morning... but the day was only half over!
As soon as the awards ceremony in Loja finished, the clock started ticking.
I had another very important place to be. Victoria Tsekidou, the wonderful owner of the Little People Gallery in Málaga, had invited me to participate in a special group exhibition of small-format art.
The race to Málaga
This is where my partner (my absolute superhero) comes in.
After the joy of the awards ceremony (and leaving my winning painting in its new home in Loja!), we jumped in the car and drove straight back to Málaga. It was a bit of a crazy rush! We were tired, covered in paint from the contest, but running on pure adrenaline and happiness.
It’s days like this that make me feel so alive as an artist. One moment I'm in the countryside painting sheep, and a few hours later, I'm in the city center, surrounded by art lovers and gallery lights!
Small format, big feelings
We made it!
The exhibition at Little People Gallery is dedicated to "small format" works. It was such a fun contrast to the huge canvas I had been working on all morning.
For this show, I presented these two small, intimate floral pieces.

I love working in this size (10x10cm). It feels like writing a little poem instead of a novel. I used vibrant pinks and textured strokes to capture the feeling of fresh blooms. They are like little windows of joy.
A wonderful night at Little People
The opening was beautiful. Victoria has created such a cool, welcoming space for artists in Málaga.
It was so nice to switch gears, grab a glass of wine, and chat with the other artists and visitors. To see my little pink flowers hanging there on the grey brick wall, looking so elegant, made all the rushing around worth it.
A huge thank you to Victoria for the invitation and for supporting local art!

So, that was my crazy October 25th. From Loja to Málaga, from big landscapes to small flowers. I slept very well that night!
Come visit Little People Gallery if you are in town to see the collection.
With love,
Maryna
