It Starts from Scratch
Every original begins with a surface I prepare myself. Canvas, paper, wood, clay. Before any color touches it, there is already a decision made, a material chosen, a direction chosen. That first choice shapes everything that follows.
Made by Hand, Start to Finish
No print, no reproduction, no machine involved at any point. What you see on the surface is exactly what happened: the brushstroke, the palette knife, the thumb pressed into wet clay. Nothing is cleaned up after the fact.
There Is Only One
When an original leaves the studio it takes something with it that cannot be copied. The specific texture of that surface, the way the light catches that particular layer, the small decisions visible only up close. That is what makes it an original. There will never be another one exactly like it.
